The LoneStar Sports & Social Club is looking for…

LoneStar SSC – Internship Program

Location: Dallas

Compensation: $500-$1,000 stipend to be paid upon completion of internship

LoneStar Sports & Social Club, DFW’s most exciting co-ed adult recreational organization, is seeking two student interns to join our team.

With over 1,500 players in 2010 alone, the LoneStar Sports & Social Club is primed to grow exponentially over the next two years to catch up with the 20,000+ players that participated in LoneStar SSC’s sister leagues in Austin (http://www.AustinSSC.com) and San Antonio (http://www.sanantoniossc.com/) in 2010.

The LoneStar SSC internship is designed to give the student every aspect of running a sports business – marketing, prospecting, publicity, organizing special events, officiating sports, supervising field duties, and website enhancements.

With LoneStar SSC, you’ll receive significant real-world, hands-on experience in all aspects of sports business. Over 75% of the time is spent in the field and not in an office.

Requirements of the intership:

Must have own transportation, a computer, and knowledge of most mainstream sports
Proficiency in MS Word & Excel
Must be available evenings Monday-Thursday, with occasional weekend weekend availability. Much of the administrative work will be done in conjunction with the student’s schedule
Must be able to receive school credit & be enrolled in an internship class or program.
Preferably 21 years or older, to fully assist with any Happy Hour programs & activities

LoneStar Sports & Social Club

LoneStar SSC – Part-time Officials, Referees, & Supervisors

Want to put your passion for sports and interest in people to use? Want to help people have fun and make money at the same time? We have the opportunity for you.

The LoneStar Sports & Social Club is seeking part-time help for sports officials and supervisors. Though you can apply for one sport / one night, greater consideration will be given to those individuals who are available for multiple sports / nights.

Co-ed Adult Kickball:

Games are played in multiple locations on Wednesday and Thursday evenings (please check our “fields tab” for field addresses.
Must be able to get to the fields by 6:15pm (most games start at 6:30 and run until 10:00)
Must have experience playing baseball or softball (since kickball rules are based off of those two sports)

If you have any experience officiating sports before, please include this in your e-mail along with your evening availability. Compensation for this position is $10/hr.

Co-ed Adult Flag Football:

Games are played on Monday evenings at McCree Park in Dallas (check our “fields” tab for address).
Must be able to get to the fields by 6:15pm (most games start at 6:30 and run until 10:00)
Must have experience playing football or flag football

If you have any officiating experience, please include this in your e-mail. Only equipment needed is a Fox 40 brand whistle (only $4 at Academy). Compensation for this position is $10/hr.

Supervisor Shifts:

We are seeking one qualified individual who, in addition to umpiring / refereeing both of the sports above, is also available for field preparation, event supervision, and event breakdown.

Must be available for a minimum of 2 weekdays beginning at 3:30pm for initial field preparation
Must have experience in playing / officiating both flag football and kickball

Compensation for this position is also $10 / hr but there is opportunity to earn a greater number of part-time hours (as well as future bumps in pay).
